meteor showerWhen we reach the black, rolling hills of Livingston county, we can see into the sky so widely that it feels like we're drowning in it. The moon is a slice of lemon flickering in a pool of deep black. The center of a late-harvest cornfield, with stalks rising no higher than my calves, is where we lie on our backs, the stalks causing itches on our backs through the thin t-shirts we've begun to wear with the recent heat.meteor shower
